My husband and I went to this trade show with our kids. I filled out every entry form you could find to win things. I get a call later that week about how I have won a few things, they had left the message on our answer machine. I understood it was a sales call of some sort, I was interested in the free gifts, but not enough to return the phone call. A couple days later they had called again, I was working my dispatch job and answered the phone. She was a real nice girl, telling me about this $2000 online shopping spree that I have won, where you can buy anything online that you can buy at a normal department store except food. Then they are going to give me a $50 gas card and $50 food card. She also goes on to tell me that she understands people are not buying timeshare right now but the reason they want me to go is to get "Word Of Mouth" out about their about the resort.
LOL Ya I will get the word of mouth out there alright! I go up there and yes the resort was beautiful. The guy who talked to us was very friendly until we told him that we don't make impulse decisions and although it all sounds like a great deal we would have to research it some more. HOWEVER if you didn't sign right up, right then all the discounts they showed you would not be valid after you walked out the door. At 2:30 and after the 90 minutes were up, I told our host that we needed to leave by 3pm that our daughter had a birthday party she needed to get to. I thought he was understanding because he brought us right up stairs to talk about the price. WELL, he goes on and on about the cost of the timeshare and ya it sounded great. But this fella wouldn't shut up, I had to repeat myself 3 times that we had to go. He really thought he had us in the bag for a sale. Its now 3pm we sign this paper saying we can't go back up for 2 years for another tour. FINE BY ME!!
Now we must check out, we get our gifts. I look though them while we are rushing back home to get our daughter. The gas card was not a card, it was a form you needed to either fill out and mail or fill out on their website. Then you need to print out these vouchers, save your gas receipt and send them in. They, in time will mail you a check of some sort for the gas. I was a bit annoyed by this, I felt that was a bit misleading seeing out the woman who set us up said it was a gas card. They give you this voucher because they know 90% of the people who get it are not going to bother with it.
Once we get our daughter to the party, pick our our son and finally get something to eat we go home. I get right online to see what goodies were waiting for us to buy with the $2000. YA they think I am a big time fool with this one. It is a bunch of SHIT, things that you wouldn't find in a department store and not only that but you had to pay shipping for each item. I am glad for the company I work for because I understand shipping costs now better then ever. They were charging $14 to ship one very small item and each item was around $7-$14 alone for shipping. I am not stupid, I know it would not cost that much to ship items to someone. Not only that but you couldn't find any regular department store items on this site. So the short of it is they lied to me. They worked it up to be something that it is not! Working with customer service, being a consumer, I understand these are very bad practices for any business.
Lastly, I looked up some timeshare at that same lodge. As I said it was beautiful, http://www.northstarinn.com/ , as you can see for yourself. Anyway, the timeshare that he offered us at first was around 17,000, then he came back with 9,000 and when he still didn't have us he ended with $5000. What I found online was the same resort for $2900 and anual maintence fees of around $500. That is not bad for a place that is only an hour and thirty minutes for our house and we would def. go and stay for a week. I have 4 snowboarders at home and this was sooooo close to Killington. I see now why all discounts are taken away after you leave, because once you get home and go on the internet you can find it cheaper then what they themselves are selling it for.

Work Zones!
I have a very long travel each day for work. It is about 40 miles one way, with that said I travel back roads and highways to get there. There is this one highway where there is some work being done on it. The speed limit in a work zone in NYS is 45 miles per hour. Now I understand the whole mad rush to get to work on time and ya maybe for some it is just a mad rush to get to work (they just love their job oh so much). But what I don't understand is why does it seem that every morning I am the only one doing that 45 miles per hour?
No one sets off on their day and thinks "I am going to speed though that work zone and get into an accident". I am sure that thought doesn't cross anyone's minds. However, I firmly stand by "My daddy works here" signs! Because its true they are peoples fathers, brothers, husbands, mothers, sisters, wife's and friends. I would had for someone to happy to someone in my family or a friend just because someone else was in a rush!
I ask that the next time you drive though a work zone you SLOW THE HELL down!!! How much time are you really saving by speeding though? And is the extra min to 10 minutes worth it to you and to a life??? I would sure as hell hope not.
Have the respect you should for others, slow down!

You really think so??
I was watching the news before bed the other night. I was rather shocked about the story that was on, African American people are worried about their votes counting. Really? I know some really f-ed up things can happen, maybe a miscount. But come on now!!! I just can't get over the fact that this is just a bunch of CRAP!!
How many times have you seen in a work place that someone has sued their job due to racism? How many times has that loss of a job been due to that? I know of two cases where someone has sued for that and it has totally not been the case. Its sad to say but they were both rather lazy, and both been at their jobs for around 10 years. So come on all of a sudden your employer decided " Well, today I feel like being a racist!"
I had a conversation the other day with a friend of mine and it is the people who toss down that racist card that help to continue that viscous cycle. I am not saying that there are not racists, nor am I saying that racism doesn't exist in the work place. BUT PLEASE If you know you were fired due to the fact that you just don't do your job anymore then leave with your pride in tact.
Goes back to this ballot issue, I can't fathom that a majority of votes will not count. That if Obama loses the race a lot of people are saying it will be due to that. No what it will be due to is the majority of the people don't want a "New World Order" . Do a google search about that, what does that statement really mean? Are the Obama supporters getting their losing speach ready ahead of time? Is it because they don't have faith in him becoming the next President?
I am sure this will get people going. Understand this is what I have seen in my travels. I do understand that some people are very backwards and very racist. I am not blind, I guess what I can't understand is how can the few that are help to stop history being made.

What is love? Lost? Found?

There once was a light but I believe its gone out
I just can't be sure, but I see it no more
I wish I had help, maybe a guide
To help me find that light inside
It once was so bright, to be seen for miles
Once it was seen it brought on such smiles
There is only darkness now, for a while
I await the day when that light returns
To be complete and whole is so worth while
So take my hand, walk with me a while
I think you might be my light, my life, my smile

Is it just me??
Ya know, there are things that happen and I just have to sit back and think "WTF are they thinking"! Sometimes they such minor things, but still that thought comes into my head. For example, when a car pulls out in front of you but yet no one is behind you. THEN they go slower then what you were going. That is a WTF moment! (With my 80 mile a day travel you can understand why this would be an issue with me)
Then you have the people who are either to much into their own world are they themselves don't give a shit. Perfect example is when your walking or out of a building, your kind enough to hold the door for them and the don't even bother with a Thank You. Have we all just gotten to the point where we tolerate others but yet really don't care?
I guess its my fault, I pay such close attention to what others are doing. If I would just go inside my own little bubble then I too could worry about just myself and say screw you!! But then that would be me conforming to how what seems to me, a vast majority acts and I just can't partake in all of that.

I Want More!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! I do want more, don't we all? The thing about that is, its not your typical want. Its not love, money or power. I want to get more out of the internet. I look around at all these tech savvy people on twitter.com and I realize there is so much more to the internet then just playing online poker.
SOO Fill me in, help a girl out. Give me your links, tips and tricks. I want anything that is of any interest that the normal person might not find on their own.

Very Greatful!!
So I have been working for the company that I am at for not yet 4 months. I was very scared at first due to the fact I was at my last job for a little over 4 years. I was comfortable to say the least and I really truly did enjoy working there. I loved the people I worked with and my boss was great.
The first month there I was still debating if I enjoyed it. Yes I liked the switch, didn't really like the hours (still having trouble with the hours). I now see that I have made a very good decision. I noticed right up front that some of my co-workers were very out going and eager to welcome me to the group. I quickly developed friendships with many of them.
It is also a family run business and I liked that aspect of the company. About 15 years ago while in high school and during my early 20's I worked for another family run business. They tend to care more about the employee's then a regular corporation would. They treat you with respect and they know they need their employees in order to run their business.
Recently I had a death in my family. This is where their caring came in big time. They were concerned with me and my family, all praying for us that we stay strong and make it through this hard time. When I arrived at the wake I saw the flowers they sent and they were beautiful! About half way though the wake I had a surprise visitor, my boss had stopped by to pay his respects. I was shocked and touched by this, more then words can say. I don't think I can find a better company to work for or better people. I can see why so many of their employees stay for so long, they care about their business and the people that help make that business run!!
I thank you all for how much you have touched me in this hard time. I want you all to know that knowing how kind and caring you are has helped me though. I enjoy working with you all and look forward to a long working relationship. Thank You all from my heart!!!

First one, why not be about HP
So I received my laptop back from HP customer care today. It was not working due to a stupid place for HP & Microsoft to place the product sticker. On the bottom of the damn laptop! What was that over priced suit thinking when they thought that up? It must have gone like this:
Over priced suit sitting in his office nothing to do put think of a way to place the product code on a computer, because it is cost effect not to send disks. SO he is picking his nose and BAM! It comes to him, why not place a PAPER sticker on the bottom of a laptop with a very important number that one will need in the future if they need to reformat their hard drive OR there is a problem that has to be fixed.
So first I try a chat with HP it too her over 30 min. to tell me someone will get to me within 24 to 48 hours. Are you KIDDING ME!! So I told her not to bother and I called HP myself. After being on the phone with a fella for over an hour and TWO Microsoft customer service reps. I am given a new number.
Now what got me about Microsoft, they asked me if I had the disks. If you remember from the over priced suit, they don't send disks. So I told the lady that she must be aware they Microsoft no longer supply these disks. I really do hope for their sake and my sanity that I will not need to contact either company again.
